The history of our College has been a narrative of responding to the call of society. S. I. Patil Arts, G. B. Patel Science, and S. T. K. V. Sangh Commerce College, Shahada was instituted in 1961, in order to provide premium education to the residents of Shahada and surrounding areas. Fifty years into fulfilling the vision and mission of the college by aiming to equip the students to push the boundaries of knowledge while sensitizing them to the need for compassion and integrity as individuals and global citizens, our College is faced with a new call.
At a time when the world is faced with an explosion of knowledge and technological innovations, the call is to move into more experimental and innovative territories of the autonomous educational systems. The faculty at the College has always been a trendsetter but what has also been noteworthy is the excellent support and commitment of the non-teaching staff. I wish to congratulate the entire faculty and other staff for encouraging and guiding the students in all facets, for their well-rounded development.
Challenges and Opportunities are two sides of the same coin. Modern education, curriculum development, and teaching methodologies have to keep pace with the demand of the economic environment. The manager, businessman, and entrepreneur of today needs many more weapons in the armory. Holistic education should include all-round development of a student.
In order to improve the quality of higher education, our institution is proving itself by achieving accolades every year in the last couple of years like the Reaccreditation by NAAC with grade A with CGPA 3.12, its endorsement by RUSA grants of Rs.2 crores & DBT-Star college Scheme by Department of Science and Technology, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India respectively this year. It is only fitting that our College which has been conferred with ‘A’ grade continuously in recognition of valuable academic achievements, state of art Infrastructure, and participation of the college teachers & students in the university system through various mechanisms of the University transform itself into a strong institution. I am sure that the College is equipped and ready to answer this call and is poised to take up the challenge.
As members of an institution sworn to the task of discovery and dissemination of knowledge, I am sure that the faculty, the staff, and students of our institution will pursue the new challenge with confidence, wisdom, and hope.
